Sometimes the simplest designs can be the most appealing. The Ann Norling Easy Hat (& Cowl) is one such design. The pattern is written for 5, 5.5 and 6 stitches-per-inch gauges and is worked on circular needles throughout - no double points needed. The eyelet row and drawstring create a cute (and easy!) gathered pom-pom.  Loosen the drawstring (or omit it altogether) and it can be worn as a cowl!  It can be knitted in one solid color as written, or it can be used as a blank canvas for playing with stitch patterns, stripes and other color work.  Uses 100 grams for adult medium.
